Women in my Life

A Person who understands me more than I understand myself, I am sure everyone values their mothers the most, I do too. Smt. Tulasi Swethadri my mother was born in a small town called Hanasoge, Karnataka. Shifted to Mysore during her high school and ever since stayed in Mysore.

My mother is so creative and so much into tailoring stuffs, she probably learnt it when she was going to college. And today with so much experience she can measure anything just by having a look at it. She stitches most of my kurtha tops and my lehengas. She is crazy about bags… any new kind of a bag she watches in youtube she needs to stitch it right away. She also makes many craft items such as wall hangings, rangolis and decorates our home. Her favourite activity is to change the look of the whole living area, always shifting the furniture here and there. She believes Changing it gives a new perspective to our minds.

You know theres always a person in everyone s life who can instantly tell if you are doing okay nor not. That’s my mom in my life. Does not matter if it’s just talking or even messaging. She gets to know everything. You can lie to anyone but not to your mother. Me and my mom have a very good relationship. We go to places together. I love to drive her to places she wants to visit. We have a good rapport when it comes to shopping stuffs. She loves sarees. She has big wardrobe full of sarees and still likes to explore different types and colours of it. People tend to tease her about it but aren’ t we all crazy about some or the other things?

I love the way she asks me what i need for dinner or lunch every time i go home. Although I find it very hard to decide and we end up deciding on upma most of the time. I love how immediately she replies “ok” for all the “Left Office”, “Reached PG(Paying Guest)” messages. I feel inspired when i see her manage things in-spite of all the ups and downs.

This was about my mom, on the other hand there are many women who have also inspired me. One among them is my sister Smt. Anusha Dilip who did all my projects and art craft stuffs. Who used to take good care of me when mom and dad were not around, who told stories about morals science, who took me school with her on her cycle, who used to treat me golgappas after my music classes and who got all the scoldings because of me.

And my Lecturer Smt. Vani Shivakumar. Who always told “Its okay if you don’t know, but its not okay if you don’t want to know”…That is such a beautiful sentence. Like everyday is a new day and we will have to learn a lot of new things and thats okay but the way look at it matters.

Isn’t it so amazing how powerful women are. I feel inspiring women are everywhere, some are riding a metro train, some are educating students in schools, some are delivering food…We just have to recognize them and thank them for making this world a wonderful place. Happy Women’s Day
