The Power Of Letting Go.
We all have heard of the term “Let Go” at least once in our lives right? When we are ranting about a situation to someone, the first thing they say is… “It’s okay, let it go” But the effort behind letting go is often underrated isn’t it? To forget something, takes so much effort, a lot of processes that nobody talks about. It might be a dream, friends who were like siblings, grief, insecurities, or even a toxic relationship.
Letting go often starts with sadness for no apparent reason, or rather, we don’t know the reason at first. Then we start realising what the problem is, but we remain in denial, either because we aren’t sure if it’s true or because we simply don’t want to believe it. And then finally, we begin the process of acceptance, which involves thinking positively about ourselves and giving ourselves affirmations that can bring hope, even after letting it all go. There might be days when we just want to lie down and do nothing, or situations where we feel like shouting and crying at the same time. The regret of helplessness might haunt us throughout. And it’s not as simple as writing it down here. Sometimes it takes weeks or even months. And sometimes we have to choose to let go over and over again.
It comes with a lot of fear too, of the unknown, of failure or judgment. The fear of letting go often leads to confusion and self-doubt which makes the process even more challenging. What if this doesn’t turn out well? What if this is not a good decision? What if people think we are insensitive? But you know on the other side, there is a relief in releasing control, It lets us feel free, enables us not to force ourselves to do something that burdens us, lets us cut loose to stuff that was wrong, gives us clarity to focus, lets us to grow and move past our mistakes.
“Letting go doesn’t mean giving up, but rather accepting that there are things that cannot be.”
The Power of letting go is like a Paradox — it’s like releasing old things to make space for new things and experiences. It is a way of trusting in ourselves, in life. It helps us to look beyond… The fear is of course there, it’s natural but the rewards are immense….a lighter heart, a clearer mind, and the freedom to grow — are worth the leap.

Think about it…. what are you letting go today?
