My FIRST job

Hey folks, I have been thinking about this wonderful experience I had a few days ago. I represented my Company in front of the college that I graduated from. Yay!! I know many of you might think it’s not a big deal, but in my case it was different.

So Two months ago I joined this amazing company called Lululemon. It is basically a Canadian multinational athletic apparel brand. It’s been one year since Lululemon has come to India. Lululemon is also known for its culture where you get to share the table with great leaders, connect with various top executives of the organization, have fun at work, sweat and the list goes on.

Have you ever gotten a chance to go back to your university with your
colleagues? Trust me thats a wonderful feeling. On 27th October 2022, I visited my college, GSSS Mysore representing Lululemon. I got so nostalgic the whole time. I met the Head of my Department, lecturers…in-fact surprised them :), I met our placement officer…I felt really happy to talk to them. A few months ago when I was still studying, I remember sitting in the audience and getting inspired by the way leaders speak in this organization. And it felt like the cycle is complete when I went back to speaking with my juniors.

The purpose was to host an event, a talk on Cyber Security and Neurodiversity. Cybersecurity awareness is the mindful practice of secure actions, decisions, and presence when working with technology; and it takes practice to build these skills and instincts. Neurodiversity refers to the diversity of all people, but it is often used in the context of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), as well as other neurological or developmental conditions such as ADHD or learning disabilities. The talk was fabulous. The impact that it created in me was immense.

Lululemon is an organization that provides you with an exposure about different types of subjects like Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Action. They practice IDEA. I mean me being a complete fresher to the corporate world got an opportunity to act for my company.

Two months ago when this Company visited my college, I really did not know anything about it. But with the ethos they showcased, I was impressed and wanted to get in. When I got selected, I got really happy. As an Engineering student, unknowingly the pressure builds up in 7th and 8th semester to get placed in a good company. There is a heat of expectation in the air of every single house that keeps reminding you to push further and harder. In my case, my family and friends supported me throughout the journey. They never made me feel too stressed out, while always fuelling me with hope. And today when I look back towards all those late night preparations, retaining the small hope within and regaining the confidence after each rejection, I feel satisfied and happy to be where I am today.

These are some of the wonderful moments captured with all the lovely people :)

I am so thankful to all the people who has been really good to me, who helped me throughout my messy yet beautiful journey, because it wouldn’t have been possible without any of them and for that, I shall forever be grateful.
