Embracing change: a journey within

Have you ever felt that so many things around you seem to convey a similar message when the universe wants to tell you something? For a couple of days, I have been coming across this phrase “Change is the new constant” a lot. My life journey has changed a lot in the past year. I graduated and moved to a new city for work. I was excited to meet new people and get to know them as individuals. I was thrilled to experience new things and explore new places. I learned that I had to unlearn and relearn so many things, and in that process, I noticed that I got demotivated sometimes. The things I used to love doing didn’t excite me anymore. For example, I wanted to paint, but I didn’t have the patience to sit for 7–8 hours. Every time, I gave myself an excuse for pushing it away.

But I knew that was not how I was supposed to feel. I also discovered that some insecurities may even evolve as we grow, and we will have to work on them every day to prevent them from affecting us. For me, it wasn’t easy, and it still isn’t. It is uncomfortable, messy, and awkward sometimes. It is something everyone would have experienced at least once in life.

“All fixed set patterns are incapable of adaptability or pliability. The truth is outside of all fixed patterns. — Bruce Lee”

As I started accepting the fact that I have changed in a certain way for a certain reason, I could forgive myself for all the mistakes I have made during the transition. But the point is, we all are so busy that we won’t even realize how much we have changed, right? We won’t even pause for a bit to know about ourselves. Actually, I thought I was an introvert, but very recently when I told my colleagues, they totally disagreed, and that’s when I realized I have changed a lot in these months. In fact, I am an Ambivert. I love being at peace, and I am extroverted with the people with whom I am peaceful.

I think change is inevitable. Change is necessary. It gives us an opportunity to grow better and do better for others. So I think we need to seize it and appreciate it as it’s evidence that we are all living :)
